Follow these steps in order to use Zoom AI Companion for meeting summaries.

  1. Turn on AI Companion during the meeting

    The host clicks the AI Companion icon at the bottom of the meeting window to turn the feature on, which shows participants a notice that AI Companion is now active and asks for their acknowledgment.

  2. Confirm the participant notice

    Once a feature like meeting summary or smart recording is turned on, participants generally need to acknowledge the AI Companion policy to keep participating in the meeting, so it's a good idea to give people a heads-up beforehand.

  3. Ask questions during the meeting

    While the meeting is in progress, you can open the AI Companion panel and ask something like 'What's been discussed so far?' to get an instant answer based on the conversation up to that point.

  4. Review the summary after the meeting

    Within a few minutes of the meeting ending, a summary covering the key points and next steps is delivered by email, in team chat, or in the Summary section of the Zoom web portal.

  5. Review and assign action items

    You can edit the auto-generated summary as needed before sharing it with any teammates who couldn't attend.
