How to Use Widgets in Windows (Weather, News, and More)

Weather, headlines, and your schedule are all one click away on the taskbar, without opening a single app.

  1. Click the widgets icon on the taskbar

Click the weather/widgets icon on the left side of the taskbar.

  2. Browse widgets like weather, news, and a calendar

A panel of widget cards -- weather, stocks, news, calendar, and more -- slides out on the left side of the screen.

  3. Add or remove widgets with the "Add" button

Use the "+" button at the top to add a new widget, or open the three-dot menu on any widget and choose "Remove widget" to take it away.

  4. Set the location for the weather widget

Tap the settings icon on the weather widget to switch it to your own city or any location you want to track.

  5. Why it is worth using

You can check the weather, today's schedule, and top headlines with a single click on the taskbar, without opening a separate app for each one.

A personalized information board, not just weather

The widget board pulls together several small, glanceable sources of information -- weather, market movement, news, and your calendar -- into one panel you can open in a second.

You can trim it down to just what you use

If you only care about weather and your calendar, removing the widgets you never look at keeps the panel fast to scan instead of cluttered with cards you ignore.
