How to Sync Your Clipboard Across Windows Devices

  1. Open Settings β†’ System β†’ Clipboard

    Press Win+I to open Settings, then go to 'System' β†’ 'Clipboard.'

  2. Turn on clipboard history

    Turning on 'Clipboard history' lets you press Win+V to see a list of several recent items you've copied, not just the last one.

  3. Turn on 'Sync across devices'

    On the same screen, turning on 'Sync across your devices' makes anything you copy on this PC available on your other Windows devices too.

  4. Requires a Microsoft account

    Clipboard sync only works while you're signed in with a Microsoft account. If you're using a local account, you'll need to switch to a Microsoft account first.

  5. Choose automatic or manual syncing

    Selecting 'Automatically sync text I copy' syncs the instant you copy something, while 'Manually sync text I select in Win+V' lets you pick only the items you want to sync.

  6. Use the same history on another Windows device

    On any other Windows PC signed into the same Microsoft account with sync turned on, pressing Win+V shows the item you just copied, ready to paste.
