Skip the one-by-one updates
Instead of texting each contact individually with your news, a Status update lets everyone who has you saved see a lightweight, temporary post — a photo, a video, or just text — without cluttering anyone's chat list.
Who can see your Status
By default, everyone in your contacts who also has WhatsApp can see your Status. You can narrow that down in Settings under Status privacy, choosing "My contacts except…" to hide it from specific people, or "Only share with…" to limit it to a short list.

Can I hide my Status from specific people?
Yes. In Status privacy settings, choose "My contacts except…" and select the contacts you want to exclude — they will not see anything you post.
Can I see who has viewed my Status?
Yes. Open your posted Status and look near the bottom of the screen — an eye icon shows the list of everyone who has viewed it.
