  1. Open Settings and go to Notifications

    Open the app's settings menu and tap "Notifications."

    Open that individual chat's settings and look for a custom notification option, so a specific person or group stands out from everything else.

  4. Mute a chat instead, if you don't want a sound at all

  5. Restart the app if the new sound doesn't seem to apply
