How to Create a Group Chat in a Messaging App

  1. Tap the new chat icon

    From the main chat list, tap the icon (usually a pencil or plus sign) to start a new conversation.

  2. Choose to add multiple people

    Select the option for adding several contacts at once, rather than starting a one-on-one chat.

    Check off each contact from your list -- you can typically add quite a few people to a single group.

  4. Give the group a name

    Existing groups usually let you invite additional people afterward through the same group settings menu, without starting over.
