How to View All Photos and Videos Shared in a WhatsApp Chat

Tap through each step to see how to pull up every photo and video from one conversation at once.

  1. Open the chat you want to look through

    Go into the conversation whose shared photos and videos you want to see.

  2. Tap the contact or group name at the top

    This opens the contact info or group info screen.

  3. Find the media section

    Scroll to the section listing shared media and tap it to open the full grid.

  4. Browse the grid and tap anything to open it

    Every photo and video from that chat is laid out in a grid β€” tap one to view it full-size.

  5. Why it's useful

    When you're trying to find a photo from weeks ago, this lets you scan a grid at a glance instead of scrolling endlessly through the full chat history.

Documents and links get their own tabs too

The same media section also separates out shared documents and links from that chat, so you can jump straight to a file someone sent without wading through photos to find it.

It only shows media from that one conversation

This view is scoped to a single chat β€” it won't surface media from other conversations. To see everything across all your chats at once, you'd need to check your device's general photo gallery instead.
