How to Manage Chrome Site Permissions (Camera, Mic, Location)

  1. Open Site Settings from Privacy and Security

    In Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings to manage permissions.

  2. Check the list by permission type

    You can view which sites are allowed or blocked, organized by permission type such as camera, microphone, location, and notifications.

  3. Change permission for the current site

    Click the icon on the left of the address bar to instantly view and change the permissions granted to the site you're currently on.

  4. Revoke a previously allowed site

    On each permission's page in Site Settings, you can remove a site you no longer use from the list or switch it to blocked.

  5. Set the default behavior

    At the top of each permission page, you can decide in advance whether sites should be allowed to ask for that permission or blocked from using it at all.

Old permissions can quietly stick around

Once you grant a site access to your camera, microphone, or location for a video call or map service, that permission stays active until you revoke it β€” so it's worth checking your site settings periodically and clearing out access for sites you no longer use.
